Revving up for annual Morecambe rally run

By Classic Yorkshire correspondent Tony Lofthouse.

Next month (4 Sept) sees the annual Bradford to Morecambe classic car rally featuring over 100 vintage cars and other vehicles.

Everything from Bentleys to BMWs will follow a route from Bradford through Shipley/Saltaire and along the A65 to the west coast.

The cars will turn onto Morecambe promenade before lining up by the iconic art deco Midland Hotel and along the spectacular sea front.

The seaside rally traditionally forms part of the award winning free Vintage by the Sea Festival  (3-4 September) celebrating the best of 20th century design, fashion, music and dance from the 1920s onwards.

The family weekend will include free workshops, street food stalls, live music, pop up dance lessons, vintage fair and more.

One of the highlights is the parade of vintage classics that make the 61 mile journey from Bradford and each year raise thousands for charity on the way!
