A pristine 1977 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Series I with just 604 miles on the clock has sold for £82,125 at auction.
After initially using the car for the first few months of its life, its only owner had kept it in climate controlled storage for the last 27 years. The Rolls was last used for a family wedding in 1998.
It went under the hammer with H&H Classics in Newark earlier this month and became the most expensive non-celebrity owned ‘Shadow’ to sell at auction.
The Silver Shadow model was produced between 1965 and 1980 and has the highest production volume of any Rolls-Royce model with 30,057 made.
It was launched with a 6,230cc V8 engine – upgraded to a 6,750cc engine in 1970.
This example was finished in Walnut brown with Beige leather interior and retained its original service log, sales invoice from its purchase and MOT certificates.
It was originally sold new for £16,898 by Leyland distributor, PJ Evans of Birmingham.
Today, these are rare cars with only 21 Silver Shadow models registered for UK roads.
