Like many car enthusiasts I fancied myself as a rally driver or circuit racer. I knew I didn’t have the skill to be a champion and was happy to do my best and enjoy the experience. After gaining my racing licence my first competitive adventure was with the Classic Touring Car Club. This was aContinue reading “BARC launch Heritage racing brand.”

Rise of a champion.
For a number of years I worked on the periphery of the film industry and I still have a few contacts who let me know what’s going on. 2024 seems to have been a good year for motorsport enthusiasts with a number of films in production or hitting the cinema screen or download services. HotContinue reading “Rise of a champion.”
Ferrari: Film review
I was looking forward to seeing Ferrari as it combines many of my interests, beautiful cars, Italian countryside and an against the odds story of a man trying to save his company. The film is well constructed and nicely acted by the main stars, Adam Driver as Enzo Ferrari, Penélope Cruz as Ferrari’s wife Laura,Continue reading “Ferrari: Film review”
Goodwood is proud to announce…
There is a bit of concern about the future of classic cars, given the climate crisis and the need to save the planet. A lot of classic car enthusiasts don’t see electric conversions as a satisfactory option and it seems unlikely that in the future petrol will remain an easily accessible fuel in the national fuelContinue reading “Goodwood is proud to announce…”

My book collection has grown by visiting charity shops, car boot sales and auto jumbles. I like auto biographies and books from or about 1960’sContinue reading “A glimpse into the past”

It’s back 2022 – Croft Nostalgia Festival
Incorporating the Historic Sports Car Club Race Meeting Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th September 2022 I was disappointed when Croft Nostalgia disappeared off the calendar. Croft is a good circuit, conveniently located and with an experienced team able to get cars in and out with the minimum of delay. Excellent period racing with a crowdContinue reading “It’s back 2022 – Croft Nostalgia Festival”
